What is amebiasis?

Amebiasis is a disease caused by a monocelled parasite called Entamoeba histolytica.


Causes of amebiasis?


Entamoeba histolytica can live in the large intestine without initiating impairment to the instestines. However, occasionally, it invades the colon wall and initiating colitis, acute dysentery, or chronic diarrhea. The disease can also disperse through the blood to the liver and rarely to the brain, lungs and other organs. This disease happens worldwide, but it is most widespread in tropical regions with congested living situation and poor sanitation. amebiasis caused by  Entamoeba histolytica is spread through food or water contaminated with stools. This infection is common when human waste is utilized as fertilizer. It can also spread from individual to individual, especially by contact with the mouth or rectal area of an infected person.


Symptoms of Amebiasis


Some strains of amebae are non infectious but other ones, for unknown reasons, invade the intestinal wall and causing mucus secretion into the intestines and diarrhea –Common Symptom is an illness called amebic dysentery. Additional symptoms of Amebiasis may encompass fever, and abdominal cramping and pain. In critical cases, ulcers may form in the intestinal wall; the amebae gain access to the bloodstream and travel to the liver to form abscesses.

Drink only bottled or boiled for 1 minute water or carbonated drinks in cans or bottles. Do not drink fountain beverages or any beverages with ice cubes. Another way to make water protected is by filtering it through an absolute 1 micron or less filter and disintegrating iodine tablets in the filtered water. Absolute 1 micron filters can be available in camping or outdoor shops. On the treatment of amebiasis ,Do not consume fresh crop or vegetables that you did not peel yourself. Do not consume or drink milk, dairy cheese, or dairy goods that may not have been pasteurized. Do not eat or drink anything sold by road vendors.


Diet recommendation for Amebiasis


There is no exact diet suggested clinically to cure amebiasis. However, you can follow some dietary alterations to cleanse your system of all kinds of intestinal parasites. if you have amebiasis, you need to undergo treatment prescribed by your doctor. Firstly, you need to restrict the intake of certain foods and beverages that could worsen the status. Avoid the alcoholic beverage, refined sugar, and refined food for  better diet. Raw garlic has anti-parasitic properties and is a good therapy for other digestive problems as well. You can masticate on a clove of garlic or use it as a garnish in your food items. Pineapple, flax-seed, Isabgol and pumpkin seeds are the best remedy, because of its laxative property it will flush out parasites for cleansing the intestine. You should furthermore reinforce your immune system by encompassing adequate amounts of vitamin C and zinc in your diet.
